A Few Things To Remember

Unfortunately there tend to be “storm chaser” contractors who look to take advantage of people in dire need of help. Please keep in mind the following when you consider hiring a contractor:

  1. Be wary of contractors that show up at your door. Be sure to deal with established and reputable businesses
  2. Try to deal with local business if possible, avoid the hard sell.
  3. Check out and review different contractors before signing a contract or pay anything. Request local references and talk to them.
  4. Check with the Better Business Bureau and check for complaints with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office.
  5. Check Iowa Courts Online to see if a contractor has been sued by unsatisfied customers or if the contractor has sued customers.
